Joe A. Battaglia
I was the firstborn in an Italian family to Arthur J. Battaglia & Rose Mary (DiLeo) Battaglia, followed by six beautiful sisters. My Mother’s roots are from Naples, Italy and my Father’s are from Capaci, Sicily.
When I was six months old, my parents left Utica, New York and settled in Monrovia, California. I attended Azusa Pacific University on a tennis scholarship and obtained my BA degree in Psychology. I was voted Most Valuable Player (MVP) on my senior year in the Varsity Tennis Team for going undefeated. I was a professional tennis instructor. I coached the Varsity Tennis Team at high school and college. I represented California in a 1981 Michelob Lite National Tennis Tournament, where our team won the finals at Flushing Meadows, New York. I worked with multi-handicapped blind adults as a counselor. I have served as a Lay Counselor for 40 years. I was a Senior Special Claims Representative for Farmers Insurance for the last 20 years, performing personal injury investigations and attorney negotiations. I am an avid reader, like movies and enjoy driving convertible sports cars and visiting California’s beautiful beaches. I like walking, hiking, biking, tennis, the outdoors, and most sports. I love family and friend gatherings over delicious food, board games and thrive on deep and meaningful conversations about life.
My religious persuasion is Christianity.
